Our task is to provide diverse and skilled applicant pools, classification and compensation administration, labor relations, human resources management tools, policies and procedures, and other support to City departments. The mission of the Human Resources Department is to represent the City Council and City Manager on all employee relations matters with representatives of recognized employee organizations; to plan, research, coordinate and negotiate with represented employee organizations on all subjects pertaining to wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment; and to assure that the City has fair and equitable policies and procedures and that all recruitment, hiring, placements, transfers and promotions will be made on the basis of individual qualifications for the position filled.
