Under general supervision, this position is responsible for all firefighter/EMT duties as well as the immediate supervision and management of station personnel engaged in fire suppression, emergency scene operations, and coordinating the activities on assigned shifts at the assigned fire station. Performs technical, administrative, and supervisory work in planning, organizing, directing, and implementing.
Supervision and Direction Received
Works under the general guidance and direction of the Assistant Fire Chief. Indirectly supervises and may coordinate or instruct all subordinate career and paid-on-call firefighters and officers, EMS and support personnel, other temporary or seasonal employees, and other volunteer or paid-on-call personnel as assigned directly or indirectly through subordinate officers.

Knowledge Assessment will consist of questions from IFSTA Essentials of Firefighting 8th Edition and National Registry EMT. Practical Assessment will consist of an incident scenario. Applicants must present photo identification at assessment.
